WWE News: Major Update On Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Return to WWE Television

To hear that glass shatter once again would bring sweet relief to the WWE Universe. The last time Stone Cold Steve Austin graced a WWE stage was at WrestleMania 30 in one of the greatest segments in WWE history. Along with the Rock and Hulk Hogan, Austin provided entertainment from his first breath.

After listening to that pop, Austin will always be popular with the WWE Universe. There are only a few people in WWE history that will stand the test of time. The Rock, Austin, Hulk Hogan, CM Punk, and John Cena are those people that will be remembered, by either good or bad, until wrestling itself subsides.

In a previous report on The Inquisitr, Stone Cold Steve Austin is linked to a WWE return. It is starting to become a reality; clues are beginning to come full-circle. His podcast was promoted, and this is more than just a rumor. There isn’t a guarantee that it will involve one last match, but at least the WWE fans will get to see Austin in some capacity.

“The Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting that because of WWE’s recent heavy push for ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin merchandise, it’s likely we’ll see his return to television to help promote sales. There is a deal in place between the two sides, where WWE promotes Austin’s podcast on Monday Night Raw, and Austin picks matches from the WWE Network to advertise on his show each week.”

On top of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reporting it, more outlets are talking about Austin’s inevitable return to the squared circle. WWE informed distributors to start getting the Austin merchandise in all venues. So they should be selling new Austin t-shirts, cups, and possibly more promotion of his podcast. Another thing that tipped off dirt sheets is the fact that the WWE began to promote his podcast and not Chris Jericho’s. Jericho had Triple H on his podcast too.

As for Austin believing the rumors or not, he decided to have fun with the online reports that claimed he was returning. The Texas Rattlesnake took to Twitter and debuted his hilarious beliefs on the rumor.

I don’t think Austin will be taking on the Loch Ness Monster at WrestleMania 31, but a match is not out of the question. Austin has said multiple times that if he does return for one more match, it’ll take months to promote. What’s more, he needs to find the right opponent. When the time comes for Austin to discuss another match, they will call CM Punk and try to get him back.

Regardless of where you love or hate Punk, this will happen because that’s the match everybody wants to see. If Punk simply won’t come back, then Dean Ambrose is another guy Austin could work with. However, since WrestleMania 31 is only seven months away, WrestleMania 32 may be a better fit.

We’ll keep you updated on the situation as it transpires. In the next month, don’t be surprised if the WWE brings back one of the most popular wrestlers in history.
