Brittany Kerr Affair: Jason Aldean Tired Of Questions About His Infidelity
Brittany Kerr and Jason Aldean did not have the cleanest start to their relationship, with Aldean stepping out on his wife and mother of his two daughters, but the country music star now says people need to get over it.
Aldean and Kerr made headlines in 2012 when they were photographed getting very close at a bar in Los Angeles. When the photos were taken, Aldean was still married to Jessica Ussery, his high school sweetheart, and appeared to be cheating with former American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr.
At the time, Aldean issued a public apology and said he was re-committing to his wife, but within seven months he would file for divorce. Aldean and Brittany Kerr went public at the CMT Awards in June, as he posted to Instagram a photo of them backstage with her dog.
Now, Jason Aldean is telling people it’s time to move on.
“It has been two years of this s**t — get over it, already!” he said in an interview with Billboard. “And then when I finally do get enough of it and say something, every newspaper grabs it. And I’m not trying to get in the headlines — I’m just trying to get people to stop running their mouths.”
Jason Aldean added that the affair turned him into something he had never before been — tabloid fodder.
“I’m pretty private, but over the last couple of years I’ve gotten that taken away from me, which kind of pissed me off. You know, my kids get on there and read all that. I’m not blaming anybody. Obviously, a lot of that stuff is my own deal. But I could go post something on my page right now that says, ‘Hey, we just donated $5 million to a children’s cancer research center,’ and somebody would get on there and go, ‘You’re an a**hole cheater.'”
Aldean has brought some of the attention on himself. He would go on to release the single “Burnin’ It Down,” which was ripe with sexualized language. Though some record execs argued that it would bring back questions of the Brittany Kerr affair, Aldean said he finally put his foot down and demanded that it be released.
For now, Jason Aldean said he just wants to live a quiet life with Brittany Kerr, but it seems the attention isn’t going away anytime soon.
