Fans can watch the Auburn vs. Kansas State football game live online and see whether the first real test for Auburn can lead to the biggest upset in college football so far this year.
The Tigers made short work of their first two opponents, and, after a bye week, must now travel to Manhattan to face the No. 20 ranked Kansas State squad. Despite losing 1,800-rusher Tre Mason to the NFL, Auburn hasn’t lost a step in its ground game, rushing for a collective 660 yards in wins over San Jose State and Arkansas.
But the team still sees room for improvement, even after two blowout wins.
“We are going to work on improving ourselves and try to get a head start,” coach Gus Malzahn said of readying for this game after the victory over San Jose State. “We are playing a very good team on the road with one of the better coaches that has ever walked the planet. We will have to have a good plan and have to be prepared.”
Fans who watch the Auburn vs. Kansas State game live online will see two rested squads. The Wildcats are coming off a bye week themselves, and are hoping to follow a sloppy 32-28 win over Iowa State with what would be the biggest upset so far this year.
Kansas State will face a tall order against Auburn. The Wildcats have lost their last six games against non-conference Top 25 opponents, including its most recent matchup against Auburn, a 23-13 loss in 2007.
But Jake Trotter of ESPN thinks Kansas State might have the formula for an upset.
So far, Kansas State has been one of the nation’s best teams at limiting opponents’ yardage before contact. According to ESPN Stats & Info, only Alabama (20.3 yards) has allowed fewer yards before contact this season than the Wildcats (22.5). Snyder will have K-State in position to make tackles against Auburn’s ferocious zone-read offense. But the only way the Wildcats will win this game is if they also make those tackles at the point of attack
