Selena Gomez Wants To ‘Leave A Good, Lasting Impression,’ Promises New Music By End Of Year

Selena Gomez often hits the headlines due to her on-off relationship with Justin Bieber.

The Latina starlet recently reunited with the Canadian star and spent time with him in his native Canada, Las Vegas and a PDA-packed bowling date this weekend which involved “kissing and flirting,” according to E! News.

Now, the actress-singer has opened up about the rest of her life: what’s most important to her and what she loves, as well as teasing her fans with news to get excited about.

“My health is the most important thing!” Selena declared to German magazine Bravo in a recent interview.

Fans of the 22-year-old — whose grandfather confirmed she suffers from the autoimmune condition Lupus earlier this year – will likely be delighted her health is a priority for Gomez.

There were concerns last December, when Selena pulled out of the Australian and Asian legs of her Stars Dance tour. Then, in the first week of January, the starlet secretly went to a rehab facility in Arizona for two weeks. Reasons for her admittance were rumored to be her then strained relationship with Bieber. A month later, her rep denied substance abuse was an issue.

Since then, Selena’s up and downs with Justin have been well documented, not least by the lady herself via Instagram.

However, the “Come & and Get It” singer assures the magazine she takes her well-being seriously because she wants to do what she loves and last in the entertainment game.

“I still want to be able to do the thing I love in 10 years time,” Gomez said, before adding, “And I want to leave a good, lasting impression.”

At that point in the interview, Selena teased, “Before the year is out you’ll be hearing new music from me.”

The magazine added the young U.N.I.C.E.F ambassador said more ventures were in the works, but she couldn’t talk about any of them yet.

Earlier this month, it was reported Selena signed a new deal with Interscope, but still owes Disney’s Hollywood Records (where she was signed for seven years) one more album.

Gomez will reportedly be putting out a “Greatest Hits” album for Christmas, according to Washington Blade. The end of year drop is expected to have two unreleased tracks.

Gomez’s relationship with her fans – Selenators, who now number 23 million on Twitter – can perhaps best be expressed by her acceptance speech for the Ultimate Choice award at this year’s Teen Choice Awards.

Dedicating it to her fans, Selena said onstage,”You remind me, amidst all the stuff that we deal with personally, what’s important, and that’s giving and loving and caring about each other. I’m not trying to preach or any of that. It’s just that you guys make me better – and I just really appreciate everything that you’ve done.”

We’re looking forward to hearing the new songs Ms. Gomez.
