How Princess Kate Middleton Evolved From Charity Fashion Model To Royal Modern Mum

Her growing group of fans know her as Princess Kate. But her little boy Prince George and the tiny infant inside Kate Middleton’s baby bump will know her as simply “Mummy.” In a week when much of the news stories seemed tragic, the announcement of a second pregnancy for the Duchess of Cambridge, also known as Princess Kate, earned the number one ranking in People magazine’s listing of top stories of the week on Sept. 13.

Happily beaming Prince William and Princess Kate announced the news in true royal fashion, allowing the official Palace to confirm the rumors.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child,” stated the official announcement about the bun-in-the-oven state of Princess Kate.

The royal baby bump news wasn’t all roses, however. Princess Kate also is suffering from another bout with morning sickness, reported Classicalite on Sept. 12.

True to the tradition of the celebrity bet-on-your-baby brigade, gamblers immediately started offering odds on whether Princess Kate would have a boy or a girl. Ladbrokes gambling firm broke the news.

“Ladbrokes began offering 4-to-5 odds that Kate Middleton will give birth to a boy…The firm said it is an ‘even money shot’ that Will and Kate will have a daughter… James is an early favorite from Ladbrokes with 6-to-1 odds, while Arthur, Elizabeth and Victoria all have 8-to-1 odds.”

But how did the current Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Kate, begin her journey to a soon-to-be yummy mummy of two? The path to becoming Princess Kate began when she modeled for a charity fashion show at St. Andrew’s University, where Prince William initially became enamored, according to Us Weekly.

The future Princess Kate and Prince William dated for years, with outings such as a Day-Glo Midnight Roller Disco fundraiser giving the then-curvy cutie the opportunity to showcase her body. But when preparation for the wedding began, the soon-to-be Princess Kate began to diet.

After the wedding, Princess Kate reportedly continued to focus on weight loss. But when the news of her first pregnancy were confirmed, Princess Kate became determined to do all that she could to have a healthy baby. And, as The Inquisitr reported. she and Prince William quickly became delighted with the joys of becoming parents for the first time.

Although Princess Kate is struggling with severe morning sickness again, she is eager to become the mother of two. Her condition, known as hyperemesis gravidarum, caused her to be hospitalized during her first pregnancy. The Honor Society of Nursing (STTI) reports that the acute form of morning sickness occurs in only two percent of pregnant women.

However, Princess Kate is prepared this time with the knowledge of how to manage the illness. She is under the care of the royal physicians, who will watch for possible complications such as severe dehydration from vomiting.
