Joan Rivers’ $150 Million Legacy Includes Lifetime Pampering For Her Beloved Four Dogs

Joan Rivers’ daughter has reportedly inherited the best part of a $150 million fortune left to her by her late mother, who tragically passed away last week.

As is clear from the legacy Rivers left, she was a shrewd and smart businesswoman, as well as an iconic and much loved comedienne, and she also left her affairs absolutely in order.

The Mirror reported that Joan Rivers amassed her huge fortune mainly from her successful jewelry and fashion lines, despite the fact that she was almost bankrupt once upon a time. Rivers’ wealth is thanks to some good decision making, a little bit of luck, and, of course, her QVC Enterprise line of scarves, brooches and other apparel which amounted to a cool $1 billion in sales.

Rivers’ will made sure that her $35 million Upper East Side apartment was left to her only child Melissa as well as her grandson Cooper Rivers. But Joan Rivers didn’t just love her family; she was known for being a huge dog fan, having four pooches of her own. Joan ensured that they would be well looked after following her death.

The International Business Times reports that the four dogs lived with Joan at her California residence and that each of them was mentioned by name with clear instructions for their long-term care.

Joan Rivers made no secret of the fact that she was a huge dog lover, especially since she revealed in an interview with the Wall Street Journal just how much she adored her rescue dogs, “Only when you love dogs very much do you let them sit on $300 per yard fabric. I’ve never been one of those Fifth Avenue ladies that have to have dogs that match. I am the Angelina Jolie of barkers,” she said.

As per the report, the two rescue dogs were by Joan’s side in her last moments, after she slipped into a coma during a routine endoscopy procedure.

Rivers died at the age of 81 after having spent a week in the hospital. The doctors did everything they could to save the Hollywood icon’s life.
