I Am Alive confirmed to be alive, coming to XBLA/PSN

Just in time to answer ESRB’s rating, Ubisoft has confirmed that I Am Alive is on the way, and it’ll be out on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network at some point “this winter.”

The story follows an unnamed “everyman” in his quest to find his wife and daughter in his recently-destroyed hometown, Haventown. The game’s focus is on survival – or staying alive, if you will – with stamina and resource management being key components of I Am Alive‘s gameplay.

“We know people have been waiting for this game to arrive, and we believe it’s going to be worth the wait,” said Adam Novickas, Director of Marketing at Ubisoft. “I Am Alive presents a unique take on the post-apocalyptic, survival genre by creating more complex and emotional situations for the player. Xbox LIVE Arcade and PlayStation Network are the perfect platforms to leverage the mature and challenging experiences of the game.”

If word that I Am Alive is actually going to be released isn’t exciting enough for you, Ubisoft also released the very first gameplay trailer – and the first look we’ve seen of the game since it was announced way back in 2008.
