Kanye West Keeps His Grammys Where!?

Kanye West doesn’t have his Grammys in a typical display. While this may not come as a huge surprise given West’s eccentric ways, we would never guess where he puts his Grammys. Currently West has won 24 Grammys, and according to his wife Kim Kardashian, he doesn’t exactly have them on display as one would assume.

During an interview with BBC, Kardashian-West spilled the beans on where Kanye’s Grammys reside. According to Kim, the rapper keeps them stored in the laundry room of all places.

Oddly enough, Kim doesn’t see Kanye as a show off and that’s the explanation she gave to his odd storage place. “Kanye’s not big on putting his GRAMMYs up and stuff like that, they’re literally in the laundry room, like just randomly or a sock drawer and all around.”

Kardashian continued, “So I’ve gathered them all, and maybe I can talk him into putting them in one of our offices. He’s not into awards being all around the house — he’s not a show-off person.”

This is coming from an artist who’s gone on tirades about not winning Grammys and VMAs early on in his career as a rapper. Modesty is definitely not the rapper’s finest suit. Back in 2013, West had a dozen or so quotable moments from his New York Times interview. One of those highlights were his thoughts on the Grammys.

At the time West said, “I don’t know if this is statistically right,” he said, “but I’m assuming I have the most Grammys of anyone my age, but I haven’t won one against a white person.”

Of course, this quote is a little off base. Aisha Harris of Slate clarified, “Has West ever won a Grammy when up against a white artist? Yes. He’s beat out the Beastie Boys, Fergie, and Eminem, the latter several times. And in the songwriting categories, he’s won against several white songwriters.”

That said, 24 Grammys is a huge feat for someone who only gained prominence as a rapper a little over a decade ago. When West first started in the industry, he was known as a popular hip hop producer before he broke out as a rap artist with “Through The Wire” and “Jesus Walks.”

Since then, West has tried to break into the fashion industr, with his own clothing line and has rubbed elbows with Anna Wintour several times.

Still, a sock drawer?
