Katy Perry Bringing Special Friend Charli XCX On Tour

Move over Riff Raff, Katy Perry may have a new BFF as her European Prismatic tour begins to heat up now that Charli XCX will be on board. The announcement was made on Twitter after hinting at the matchup on Instagram during the MTV Video Music Awards.

The tweet came after the aforementioned Instagram of the two pop singers hamming it up with Riff Raff and Sam Smith at the VMAs. The Instagram was captioned by Charli XCX with “Get ready.” Now we know what her and Katy Perry were planning. The Katy Perry Prismatic tour enters Europe early next year and Charli XCX will be on all tour dates. Speaking of which, those tour dates begin in Barcelona on February 16th, says MTV. The planned Euro tour for Katy Perry Prismatic is as follows:

  • February 16 – Barcelona: Palau Saint Jordi
  • February 17 – Montpellier: Park Suite Arena
  • February 20 – Lyon: Halle Tony Garnier
  • February 21 – Milan: Mediolanum Forum
  • February 23 – Prague: O2 Arena
  • February 24 – Krakow: Krakow Arena
  • February 26 – Vienna: Stadthalle
  • February 27 – Bratislava: Slovnaft Arena
  • March 1 – Zurich: Hallenstadion
  • March 2 – Munich: Olympiahalle
  • March 4 – Antwerp: Sportpaleis
  • March 5 – Cologne: Lanxess Arena
  • March 7 – Herning: Jyske Bank Boxen
  • March 9 – Amsterdam: Ziggo Dome
  • March 12 – Hamburg: O2 World
  • March 13 – Berlin: O2 World
  • March 15 – Riga: Arena
  • March 18 – Helsinki: Hartwall Arena
  • March 20 – Oslo: Telenor Arena
  • March 22 – Stockholm: Ericsson Globe

Charli XCX will be supporting Katy Perry on the Prismatic tour and was quite happy during a press announcement for the teaming up.

“I’m excited – it’s going to be a magical tour. Katy’s the coolest and it’s an honour to go on tour with such a pop legend. Pussy power.”

According to NME, the new Charli XCX album Sucker releases on October 5, making the tour with Katy Perry a prime way to promote her new offering. She will continue where country music star Kacey Musgraves has been during the American side of the Prismatic tour with Katy Perry, says Music Times. Despite the collaborative tour with Katy Perry, though, Charli XCX has told NME that she wants to be established as a solo artist, hence the new album. While her hit Boom Clap has hit the charts and a new single Break the Rules is set to release soon, we have yet to see fathers pranking their shower-singing sons as we do with Katy Perry.
