Ariana Grande Scores Another Number One Album With ‘My Everything’

Ariana Grande’s latest album, My Everything, is officially a hit.

The former Sam & Cat star recently dropped her sophomore record on the masses, a tidy collection of tunes that features the infectious hit “Problem” featuring Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. That song helped Grande expand her fanbase by leaps and bounds, effectively increasing the amount of folks willing to splurge on her new album.

Her collaboration with Azalea, coupled with Ariana’s rising star, has reportedly earned the adorable 21-year-old singer another hit record. According to Forbes, My Everything sailed to the top of the Billboard 200 after moving approximately 169,000 copies during its first week of release. Not bad, Grande. Not bad at all.

Of course, her debut effort, Yours Truly, wasn’t a total slouch during its first week on retail shelves back in 2013. The batch of ditties sold 138,000 copies during the first seven days, though it’s yet to achieve gold status in the U.S. as of this writing. However, Ariana Grande’s latest foray into the fickle world of pop music probably won’t have any trouble whatsoever surpassing the numbers generated by her first record.

Billboard points out that Ariana Grande hit a couple of milestones following the release of My Everything. Not only does she have the second-highest debut for a female pop artist this year — Lana Del Rey’s Ultraviolence takes the top spot — she’s also the first lady to score two number one albums since Susan Boyle.

But wait — that’s not all. Billboard has the scoop on Ariana’s other achievement. The singer is pretty much unstoppable in 2014.

“Speaking of Boyle, she and Grande are two of only three women to have charted two different No. 1 albums in less than a year since SoundScan started powering the chart in May 1991. They join LeAnn Rimes, who did it with ‘Unchained Melody/The Early Years’ and ‘You Light Up My Life — Inspirational Songs’ in 1997. Justin Bieber, Jay Z, One Direction, Luke Bryan and Lil Wayne are among the other acts that have managed the feat.”

Unfortunately for Ariana Grande, her hit record arrived around the same time as a handful of pics allegedly showcasing the singer in her birthday suit. However, news.com.au explains that Grande has flatly denied that she’s featured in the aforementioned images. She issued a stern statement on Twitter shortly after the pics hit the internet.

“My lil ass is a lot cuter than that…. Whoever thought those were actually me… love you but I’m praying for you,” she wrote.
