Rob Kardashian may finally be rebounding from his recent depression.
A source close to Kardashian says that the reality star is getting serious about losing weight. In fact, Kardashian is overhauling his diet and exercising in the hopes of shedding 50 pounds.
Rob Kardashian’s struggles with depression first came into the spotlight when he skipped sister Kim’s wedding to Kanye West. In fact, Rob Kardashian wasn’t just missing from the wedding, he also missed the pre-wedding brunch, rehearsal dinner and reception. Kardashian’s absence was so conspicuous, celebrity news columnists began to speculate that he and Kim must have had a fight or falling out prior to the wedding events. Until recently, Kim had been silent on the subject of her brother’s absence from her wedding. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Kim told host Andy Cohen that there had been no argument leading up to Rob ditching her wedding. According to Kim Kardashian, she received an email from Rob simply saying that he was going to leave.
Kardashian’s depression seems to have either started or gotten worse after older sister Khloe’s marriage to Lamar Odom imploded earlier this year. Sources close to the family report that Rob and Odom were very close, and that the split was particularly hard on him. The depression led Kadashian to gain an estimated 75 pounds. Fears for Rob Kardashian’s well being only intensified with TMZ released photos that appeared to show Kardashian drinking sizzurp and smoking weed.
Rob Kardashian has apparently been doing better in recent months. Though the star essentially disappeared from the family reality show Keeping Up with the Kardashians and skipped a family trip to Thailand, sources say Kardashian is in therapy and trying to get his life back on track. It appears that part of Rob Kardashian’s quest to get his life back on track involves living with his older sister. As The Inqusitr previously reported, Rob Kardashian recently moved in with his sister Khloe. Khloe took to social media recently to show support for her brother. Both Khloe and Rob hope they will be able to motivate one another to eat well and exercise. Living with Khloe may also give Rob Kardashian the chance to get closer to French Montana, who Khloe has been dating since she and Lamar Odom split earlier this year.
A 90 minute episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians airs Sunday at 9 PM. The season finale, which revolves around Kim and Kanye’s wedding, will air Monday at 9 PM on E! Television.
