Could It Be True? Is A Destiny’s Child Reunion In The Works?

Could the rumors be true? Is there a Destiny’s Child reunion in the making? According reports and an alleged interview with Beyonce’s father Mathew Knowles, that answer is, unequivocally “Yes”.

And who would be a better spokesperson for the reuniting of the three powerhouse singers that make up Destiny’s Child, other than the man who manages them himself? The Independent reports that Mathew Knowles hinted to both another album and an upcoming tour are in the works:

“What folks don’t know is that I am still the manager of Destiny’s Child. You see them doing songs together, now they’ve done two. There might be another Destiny’s Child album coming.”

What about those rumors of a reunion tour, Mr. Knowles?

“There might be this tour that makes history with Destiny’s Child featuring Beyoncé, Kelly and Michelle. Can you imagine what that would be like.”

Indeed it appears that three divas have buried the hatchet. A very pregnant Kelly Rowland sat next to Beyonce’s husband, hip-hop mogul Jay Z and their daughter Blue Ivy at this year’s VMAs and she certainly seemed to be having a great time.

Mathew also addressed the rumors swirling about a Jay and Bey divorce during the same interview. Daily Mail reports that the divorce rumors are completely erroneous. He also confided that all the rumors surrounding the alleged split and even the elevator incident involving Solange in May, are all nothing more than a marketing ploy:

“It’s called the jedi mind trick. Everybody’s talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange’s album sales went up 200 percent.”

Those of us who are hip to the marketing game in the entertainment industry could have put two and two together. Mathew Knowles statements certainly make one wonder if the fans are going to be as forgiving for being duped.

But, at least there’s potential for a Destiny’s Child reunion, right?

The trio disbanded in 2006 at the height of their success so that each of the members could embark on solo projects. Although there was a lot of conjecture about tensions between the three vocalists, it looks like that is all behind them now.
