Teen Mom star Catelynn Lowell has filmed the show for years, even though she gave up her daughter for adoption. MTV decided to follow her story because the network wanted to show the struggles of having a child as a teenager and then giving it up to someone else. But this adoption has changed Catelynn.
It is no secret Lowell and her boyfriend Tyler Baltierra have both struggled with their decision to give their daughter up for adoption. Luckily, they have an open adoption and can follow their daughter’s life from afar. But the couple has been keeping a secret as Lowell hasn’t been doing well behind closed doors.
According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report, Teen Mom star Catelynn Lowell is now revealing a big secret that she has been keeping. After Robin Williams had taken his own life after struggling with depression, Catelynn revealed that she had also battled with those dark feelings.
“It’s not a joke I struggle with depression/anxiety on the daily!” Catelynn revealed on Instagram, writing, “We are not alone… there is help out in the world! #listentoeachother.”
Catelynn Lowell may have shared a happy persona on her social media platforms, but she struggled to keep herself positive and happy. She revealed that she felt no need to continue living.
“My depression and anxiety were so severe,” Catelynn Lowell has said about her battle with depression.
“I didn’t want to live another day. I couldn’t stop crying. I felt I’d be better off dead. I needed help. Tyler has battled depression and knows what it looks like, so he made my first appointment,” Catelynn explains.
Since being diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety, she has been taking medication daily, including Zoloft and Abilify. She isn’t taking them during her pregnancy, however.
Catelynn Lowell has plenty to look forward to. According to The Inquisitr, Lowell announced that she was expecting her second child, a little girl. Lowell and Tyler are planning on keeping this child as they are ready to have a child of their own.
Since this is the first time that Catelynn and Tyler will become full-time parents, they want to do it right. They have already started preparing the baby’s nursery, even though she won’t be making her debut this summer.
Are you surprised that Catelynn Lowell has battled depression so severely? Do you think she will be a good mother now that she has gotten a handle on it?
