Cary Joji Fukunaga is Hollywood’s newest hunk — even though he has been in Hollywood for quite some time. The True Detective director got himself some serious attention at Monday night’s Emmy Awards when he accepted the award for Outstanding Directing. According to Us Weekly, the internet lit up when the camera caught Fukunaga in his seat… and then when he gave his acceptance speech. Oh, and his pigtail-braids? Totally a thing.
“The handsome, chisel-cheeked 37-year-old caused an instant online commotion as he took to the stage at L.A.’s Nokia Theatre to accept his award at the 2014 Emmys. But it wasn’t his impressive body of work the fans were focused on, it was the fact that he’s super hot!”
Cary Joji Fukunaga is half Swedish and half Japanese. While he has dated in Hollywood in the past (he dated actress Michelle Williams for a few times in 2011), but it doesn’t look like he’s ever been married. There wasn’t a woman on his arm at the Emmys either, which makes him Hollywood’s newest eligible bachelor. And that? Is key.
In case his good looks aren’t enough to sell you, his dating habits well definitely convince you that he’s a great catch. He previously opened up about what he did for girlfriends in the past.
“I’ve written immense love letters that are supposed to be opened over days at a time. I used to always make art for girls. That was the thing I did for girls to like me. I did portraits, drawings, letters that formed outlines of significant things in our relationship. Art. I just used art in general. It usually worked.”
Cary Joji Fukunaga’s man-braids were the subject of many Twitter discussions yesterday. According to Entertainment Weekly, the man-braid might be taking over for the man-bun. Women apparently loved Fukunaga’s hair… and that’s not all that surprising. It’s new, and it totally works.
Long hair on men was sort of a thing at the Emmys. Game Of Thrones star Kit Harington rocked the man bun, and he looked great. However, as previously reported by The Inquisitr, Kit has rekindled his romance with former GoT co-star Rose Leslie, so he is off the market. Which means Fukunaga is the guy to get if you’re into the whole long hair thing. He’s well-groomed, well-spoken, and he has a great resume (which he just added “Emmy winning director” to).
Do you think Cary Joji Fukunaga is good looking? Will he be the new thing or will the obsession with him (and his hair) die off?
