Karrueche Tran Cracks A Cruel Joke About Blue Ivy’s Hair, And The Beyhive Responds

Karrueche Tran, the model best known for being Chris Brown’s on-again, off-again girlfriend, recently angered Beyonce fans by bashing Blue Ivy’s MTV Video Music Awards hairstyle.

According to TMZ, Karrueche Tran poked fun at the little girl’s cute curls while guest-hosting BET’s “106 & Park.” Karreuche was reading a list of Blue Ivy’s imagined thoughts about the MTV VMAs when she made the tasteless joke.

“I really did wake up like this because my parents never comb my hair.”

Karreuche Tran’s line elicited quite the response from Beyonce’s angry Twitter Beyhive.

However, in the video clip, it’s obvious that Karreuche Tran was simply reading the “106 & Park” teleprompter. Karreuche and co-host Brandon Broady were taking turns reading the list of Blue Ivy’s thoughts about the MTV VMAs, and Trane just happened to get the joke making fun of a two-year-old toddler’s natural hair. Karreuche Tran S quickly apologized to Blue right after making the joke, but luckily Miss Ivy has no clue that her hair is such a contentious topic.

Tran also responded to the backlash on Twitter and Instagram. First she tried to defend herself by explaining that she didn’t come up with the Blue Ivy joke.

After that failed to make the Beyhive quit buzzing, she apologized on Instagram.

“Past two days have been extremely draining.. As I geared up for a big day for myself – hosting a live show.. I never expected things to turn out this way.. I apologize to any and everyone who felt offended in any way by the comments made by BET executed through me.. I would never disrespect anyone’s child in any way and anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE Beyoncé. My comments have been in complete shambles.. yes I am human too and yes I do make mistakes.. But all this negativity and death wishes are quite a lot.. Definitely a lesson learned from here forth.. Again, on behalf of MYSELF, my sincerest apologies ?? #BeyHive”

According to Billboard, the backlash got so bad that BET even issued an apology for the cruel Blue Ivy joke. Stephen G. Hill, president of music programming and specials for BET Networks, defended Karrueche Tran and admitted that the network made a mistake by basically bullying a little girl.

This isn’t the first time Blue Ivy’s hair has received negative attention. As The Inquisitr previously reported, a concerned citizen created a ridiculous Change.org petition calling for Beyonce to comb and style Blue Ivy’s hair. The creator of the petition claimed that Blue Ivy was suffering from “matted dreads and lint balls.” The allegations in the petition were much worse than what Karreuche Tran said, and thousands of people signed it.

It’s sad that people are ganging up on Beyonce for choosing to let her little girl’s hair be natural. Maybe the singer doesn’t want to load it with chemicals that could be dangerous, and maybe she’s afraid that Blue Ivy will suffer from a type of hair loss called traction alopecia if she styles the toddlers hair into tight braids or ponytails.

Luckily, Blue Ivy will probably be able to pull a Taylor Swift by shaking off Karrueche Tran’s joke. She looked pretty flawless and carefree rocking out to her mama’s performance at the MTV VMAs.
