Oklahoma Middle School Teacher Charged With Rape After Being Caught In A Hotel Room With A 15-Year-Old Student

On Friday, August 22 an Oklahoma-based middle school teacher turned herself in to authorities after being charged with the rape of a 15-year-old boy. According to The Huffington Post, 28-year-old Jennifer Caswell-Sexton reportedly followed the 15-year-old boy approximately 650 miles to Mississippi back in June. Although he was reportedly on vacation with family, she was caught with him in a Best Western hotel room.

The charges come just months after Sexton quit her job at Hollis Middle School due to growing suspicions about her questionable behavior with the teenage boy. Although many people reportedly accused Sexton of inappropriate behavior, the accusations were only assumptions with no substantial evidence. Harmon County Assistant District Attorney Eric Yarborough released an official statement to the Oklahoman in reference to the initial accusations that were brought against Sexton.

“Things that raised kind of an eyebrow. People seeing a teacher alone with a child may or may not be anything. It could just be innocent contact,” Yarborough explained. “The child said nothing’s going on, she’s just a nice teacher.”

However, the investigation took a disturbing turn when Sexton was caught with the boy in Mississippi. Detectives explained the victim recounted his relationship with Sexton when he was questioned by authorities. The boy confirmed the affair began while Sexton was an English teacher at the school.

Even when she resigned in April, they continued the affair. The unnamed victim admitted that he’d had sex with Sexton numerous times in several different places in Oklahoma. He revealed their first sexual encounter took place inside Sexton’s classroom just days before she resigned in April. But that’s not all. He also stated they’d allegedly had sex inside her home, her SUV, and her father’s home, reports the Daily Mail.

Sexton is currently facing a number of charges, including three counts of second-degree rape, two counts of enticing a child, a one forcible sodomy count.
