James Bond 24 news rumors have surfaced after an announcement from an official source. Apparently they are attempting to come up with the next iconic Bond villain.
Considering that Daniel Craig’s role as Agent 007 was part of a reboot, it could also mean they may be looking to recast a classic villain we’ve already seen. Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace were notorious for being relatively humorless in efforts to appeal to the Oriental crowd, as previously reported by The Inquisitr. It seems the initiative worked, trading the usually sexual one-liners for a bigger box office overseas.
Skyfall took a chance and put some of the “old irony” (as Daniel Craig put it) back in, and even gave us a story that explained the origins of characters we’d missed from the last two films.
The latest round of James Bond 24 news is exciting by itself. The new Bond film will apparently either have recast classic villains such as Jaws or Oddjob, or something entirely new and equally imposing.
The official James Bond film website MI6 announced:
“Casting has begun for the main assassin, with the search specifically [focused] on someone extremely physically fit and over 6 [feet] 2 [inches]. Whoever wins the role will have several altercations with Daniel Craig’s 007 throughout the film and also a driving sequence. Former sports athletes will be under consideration along with anyone ‘very unusual’. The character has the working name of ‘Hinx’ (which may change before shooting starts) and is said to be between 30 and 45 years old.”
While the name “Hinx” was dropped, it isn’t a final decision. The description of the new Bond villain sounds a lot like Jaws though, and considering it’s part of a reboot to the series it might not be far from the truth. From the sound of the name given, the character could easily be Asian or even female. This could mean that the new Bond villain may be a cross between Jaws and Oddjob, and not just some lunatic with a facial deformity and lots of money like we’ve seen so many times.
We can’t really yet know anything more about the latest James Bond 24 news, so all we can offer is speculation alongside the casting announcement.
