Iggy Azalea Falls Off Stage During Concert, But Could Recover Nicely At MTV VMAs

Iggy Azalea didn’t exactly have the stage presence she hoped at an MTV Video Music Awards benefit concert as the Australian rapper took a misstep and literally fell off the stage.

Iggy was performing her hit song “Fancy” at The Avalon in Los Angeles when she fell from the stage. Security guards sprung into action, pulling Iggy Azalea back on stage so quickly that she was able to continue the song without missing a beat.

After falling off the stage, Iggy Azalea had a good perspective on the mishap. She told the crowd she was “very blessed” that she didn’t break her legs, and later posting a video of the fall on Instagram with the caption: “I know I laughed.”

Iggy Azalea may have gotten her weekend off to a rough start, but she has the potential to end it quite well. Her song “Fancy” earned her a nomination for Video of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards, as well as a Best Female Artist nomination. Her song with Ariana Grande, “Problem,” is also up for Best Pop Song and Best Collaboration.

To top it all off, Iggy Azalea will be performing at the event with fellow pop star Rita Ora.

Even if Iggy Azalea goes home empty handed, she is certainly having an amazing summer. The Australian rapper had a smash of a breakout with “Fancy,” which shot her to super-stardom and dominated the top of the Billboard charts for most of the summer.

Iggy’s been doing pretty well beyond the radio dial as well. The 24-year-old rapper was also tabbed to host MTV’s House of Style, will appear in the upcoming Fast & Furious 7. She was also recently announced as the headliner at the SLS Las Vegas Grand Opening party on Friday, August 22.

Whatever happens, it’s clear that falling off the stage is just a blip for Iggy Azalea.
