So what does Gwyneth Paltrow really think about Jennifer Lawrence dating her ex Chris Martin?

According to sources at E! Online, the answer is, shockingly enough, a big thumbs up!

“Gwyneth is very happy for Chris, that he has moved on and found someone else,” a source tells E! News. “Their split has been remarkably amiable and they both just want the best for one another.”

The source continued noting that they “can see why Jennifer is a good match for Chris”:

“Chris is very drawn to her personality, and ambition and talent. There are actually some amazing similarities between Jennifer and Gwyneth and how they view life and career, and so Gwyneth knows that ultimately Jennifer has the power to make Chris happy in the long term. And that’s all Gwyneth wants for Chris. They might not be a couple anymore, but they will always be co-parents and best friends.”

Not every outlet is reporting as positive an outlook on the hook-up, however. According to Us Weekly, Paltrow thinks Martin “could do worse” — which is not exactly the most ringing endorsement for Lawrence. But considering the situation, Paltrow’s comments are certainly understandable. The source at Us Weekly also mentioned that Gwyneth “just wants him to be happy.”

Not since the Bruce-Demi-Ashton saga over a decade ago has there been this kind of Hollywood love triangle in our midst. As reported by The Inquisitr, Martin and Lawrence began dating months ago, but managed to keep their relationship under wraps.

Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow first revealed their “conscious uncoupling” back in March, but the two have seemingly remained close. Paltrow even recently nominated her ex as part of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, according to Us Weekly.

Paltrow has since moved on with Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk. According to E! Online, the pair are “taking it slow, but it is very stable and secure and she is happy.” Their source added, “They are not together all the time, they are both busy and at times are on opposite coasts but they are truly compatible. They are much more serious that people realize.”

Lawrence, meanwhile, split from her boyfriend Nicholas Hoult earlier this year, citing scheduling as the major reason behind the break-up and not rumors that Hoult cheated on her with co-star Kristen Stewart. And while it seemed Jennifer was enjoying single life, it now makes sense that her good tidings were because Chris Martin was already in the picture.
