Fred Savage Slated To Direct, Guest Star In Season 2 of Happy Endings

Fred Savage, the actor best known for his role as Kevin Arnold in The Wonder Years, has signed on to direct and guest star on the upcoming season of ABC’s Happy Endings.

Entering its second season, the series revolves around the lives of a group of friends, living in Chicago, whose clique is rocked when the alter-bound couple that brought them together, Alex (Elisha Cuthbert) and Dave (Zachary Knighton), break up.

Without spilling all the juicy details, Entertainment Weekly reports that Savage’s season 2 episode will involve a bad date, Cuthbert’s character, and live commentary for “The Princess Bride” – the iconic fantasy/romance/comedy flick in which he starred as a young boy.

In addition to his work on Happy Endings, Savage, 35, has made quite the name for himself as a TV director, having helmed episodes of series such as Modern Family, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Ugly Betty.

Savage’s episode is slated to air in the fall, while season two of “Happy Endings” premieres on September 28th.
