Kate Upton finally completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, but her video is probably going to disappoint anyone who drooled over her infamous Cat Daddy bikini dance.
For one thing, the supermodel reminded guys that she’s taken by enlisting the help of her baseball-playing boyfriend Justin Verlander (strike one). Upton also decided against wearing a bikini, opting to cover up in a long-sleeved shirt and black pants instead (strike two). She was wearing a thin white T-shirt, but she made sure that her head took the brunt of most of the ice water (strike three). After getting doused, Kate chose three Ice Bucket Challenge nominees: Bobbi Brown and her The Other Woman costars Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann.
As The Inquisitr previously reported, Kate Upton and Justin Verlander were both nominated by Brooklyn Decker. According to Just Jared, Rita Ora also nominated Kate to complete the Ice Bucket Challenge. Ora completed her challenge in the middle of an NYC sidewalk.
You might not appreciate Kate Upton’s lack of skin in her Ice Bucket Challenge video, but it was actually very appropriate – the challenge isn’t about flashing flesh; it’s about raising money to fight ALS.
You might have to get used to seeing Upton covered up more often. The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model seems ready to embrace a new conservative Kate, and she’s even already nixed the idea of doing nude photos. As The Inquisitr previously reported, Kate Upton doesn’t want to pose nude because of social media. “I don’t think that my pictures would be received in the way that I’d want them to be received,” she explained.
Kate Upton doesn’t need to strip down to make bank. According to Forbes, she’s the fifth highest-paid model of 2014. Most of her money came from being clothed in Express ads and showing off her face for a Bobbi Brown campaign.
Kate Upton isn’t the only star who surprised fans by keeping her clothes on for the Ice Bucket Challenge. Miley Cyrus also opted to stay covered up, and she found a creative way to get out of dousing herself with cold ice water. Instead of taking part in the Ice Bucket Challenge, she changed it to the Rice Bucket Challenge. She had her brother Braison help her dump dry rice on her head, and she captioned her Instagram video with a few hashtags aimed at the haters who might call her out for using rice instead of ice:
“#ricebucketchallenge #als @alsassociation @waynecoyne5 @katyweaver @alecholden #makes**thappen #donate #itaintaboutthepourin itsaboutthepayinandawareness http://www.alsa.org/.”
