East Palo Alto Shooting Kills California Teen, Shooter Still At Large


Police are investigating an East Palo Alto shooting that resulted in the death of one person and sent three people to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

In a related report by The Inquisitr, a grieving father is standing trial for allegedly shooting and killing a drunk driver that had just killed his two children.

Emergency crews responded to the East Palo Alto shooting at around 11: 40 PM Sunday night. The shooting took place at Purdue Avenue and Georgetown Street, across from Costano Elementary School, and involved a vehicle driven by the victims. There were six occupants of the vehicle, but only four were struck by the gunfire.

Upon arriving on the scene, emergency response declared 18-year-old Nazario Barajas deceased at the scene of the crime. Menlo Park Fire Protection District the other three suffered from non life-threatening gunshot wounds. Although names were not released, they were described as 20-year-old Hispanic female, an 18-year-old Hispanic female and an 18-year-old Hispanic male. Reports do not include any more information on the other occupants of the vehicle. The gunshot victims were transported to Stanford Hospital.

According to KTVU, authorities still do not have any information on the perpetrator of the East Palo Alto shooting. The East Palo Alto Police Department is continuing to investigate the shooting and they are advising any witnesses to come forward with information and to call the police department at (650) 321-1112 or anonymously at (650) 409-6792.
