Lena Dunham Makeover: ‘Girls’ Star Dyes Hair Platinum Blonde, Love It Or Loathe It?

Lena Dunham had a bit of a makeover, changing up her hairstyle — by way of color. According to People Magazine, Dunham dyed her hair platinum blonde (and no, it’s not a wig). The GIRLS actress has shared quite a few photos of her new look, which includes somewhat of a bowl haircut that doesn’t look too far from her normal shag — other than the longer bangs.

Lena debuted her look three days ago, captioning her first photo with “change is good” — and she’s right. Most people like Lena’s new look. It’s different, but it works for her, and her fans have let her know just how much they love her new ‘do.

Lena Dunham’s makeover probably wasn’t done for any specific reason, other than the actress wanting a new look. Some believe that you should change up your hair every six months; do something new and fresh. It’s unlikely that you will see Lena’s GIRLS character, Hannah, with platinum blonde hair because Season 4 has already wrapped. The cast finished filming about two weeks ago according to Allison Williams’ Instagram account (she just recently joined the photo-sharing site). The show is scheduled to air in 2015… perhaps not until late in the year though.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Lena is headed out on a book tour this fall, and she has been searching for performers to entertain her crowd above and beyond what a normal book tour entails (which isn’t surprising if you know anything about Lena). The Not The Kind Of Tour will last about three weeks. Lena will be visiting 11 cities from Seattle to Boston in October (see the schedule here). The signing will also be a Q&A, and there will be some “absurdly amazing” performers involved, if she can find some.

Lena Dunham’s makeover could have been done for her book tour, though it is possible that she will be back to brunette by the time October rolls around. It looks like Lena just wanted to do something fun and a bit wild while she has some downtime between filming and her tour — and there’s nothing wrong with that.
