Max Payne 3 Trailer Released By Rockstar Games

Rockstar Games on Wednesday revealed the very first trailer for Max Payne 3, the company’s next chapter in their popular gaming series which hasn’t seen a major release since Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne debuted almost eight years ago.

Keeping with life’s real timeline the game is actually set eight years after the last title and shows a different side of Payne in which his life has completely fallen apart, he’s no longer a police officer and he’s addicted to drugs and prescription drugs.

After leaving the police force Payne heads from New York to Sao Paulo where he works for a private detail protecting the family of Rodrigo Branco, a wealthy real-estate tycoon. When one of the family’s members is kidnapped Max Payne goes on a rampage against the men who have kidnapped them.

As PCMag points out:

For veterans looking to return to the Max Payne series, Rockstar Studios seems to have made upgrades to the cover system and slow motion “Bullet-Time” mode, which slows down time. This similar style of gameplay was also utilized in Rockstar’s more recent game Red Dead Redemption(known as “Dead Eye”).

Fans of the Max Payne series will also be happy to learn that online multiplayer capabilities for death match modes has been added.

Here’s the Max Payne 3 trailer:
