‘Big Brother 16’ Spoilers: Veto Competition Is Held – Who Holds The Power?

Big Brother 16 has had an uptick in the action the past couple of weeks. Two weeks ago, we saw the surprise elimination of Nicole’s cuddle buddy Hayden during a double eviction episode. This past Thursday, Nicole herself got the boot, joining her former showmance partner in the jury house. That move came the same week Nicole was first crowned one of two heads of household – going from a position of power to lowest rung on the Big Brother ladder.

Now, it looks like Big Brother‘s other showmance this season — Frankie and Zach, a.k.a. Zankie — may also be coming to an end. Tonight, Frankie, the current HOH, won the Power of Veto. Although he expressed a desire to put up Victoria for eviction, conversations on the live feeds reveal he’s turning his attention to his best friend in the house.

Big Brother Network reveals that moments after promising to backdoor Victoria, Frankie had a conversation with Caleb who suggested putting up Zach, claiming the other alliance members were already on board – and Frankie said he was already thinking the same thing.

The nominations have already been through a few twists and turns this week, as the original plan to evict Donny fell apart during the Battle of the Block competition. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, this week’s two heads of household, Derrick and Frankie, nominated the pairs of Christine and Donny and Caleb and Cody, respectively, and planned to have Christine throw the BOB so Donny would be left with her on the block. Unexpectedly, Donny and Christine won the competition, dethroning Derrick and leaving Frankie in charge with his allies Caleb and Cody in the red nomination chairs – for now.

As Big Brother Network makes clear, Frankie’s options are limited as the number of houseguests is dwindling. Both Cody and Caleb are Frankie’s alliance members, and remain in the eviction seats almost by accident because of the BOB failure. If he chooses to save Cody or Caleb, he can only put up Derrick, Zach, or Victoria. It is likely Frankie will save Caleb, and unlikely he would replace Caleb with his Team America cohort Derrick – at least that’s the conventional wisdom.

That leaves Zach or Victoria. Derrick has quietly built a game relationship with Victoria and, if he strategizes the renomination this week as he’s orchestrated much of the big moves in the house this season, he will likely work to protect her. Therefore, this may finally see Zach’s exit from the house, since he’s unlikely to win on the block against Cody.

However, it is important to remember that despite Derrick’s ability to get the other house guests to do what he wants, it is Frankie who actually has the power this week. Buddy TV noted that Frankie spoke with Donny on Friday, prior to the BOB, and encouraged him to win so they could do something together. Buddy TV mused that perhaps Frankie might be the first player this season to make a move against Derrick.

The power of veto ceremony takes place Monday and will be broadcast on Wednesday’s episode of Big Brother.
