Chris Pratt Loves Guns, Gave Anna Faris One To Blow Away Intruders

Chris Pratt owns tons of guns, one of which he gave to his wife Anna Faris for self protection from uninvited guests.

The actor and apparent firearms enthusiast is currently starring in the summer blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy, which is setting all kinds of movie box office records, and projecting him into superstardom. His next big role is in Jurassic World, which is due out next year.

In an interview with an apparently shocked Esquire reporter, Chris Pratt revealed information about his extensive gun collection:

“Pratt talks about his thirty- or forty-gun arsenal. He bought Faris [actress Anna Faris, Pratt’s wife] a gun in the event that crazy person comes to their house while he’s in Louisiana and necessitates her ‘blowing their f—— brains out.’ He tells me to print that, just in case Anna Faris’ and Esquire’s fan demographics overlap.”

The reporter seemed to be conflicted over Pratt’s pro-gun views:

“It’s not all so primal — Pratt believes in firearm regulation, background checks, and preventing guns from falling into the hands of the mentally ill. He explains population control and hunting licenses and tags and the virtues of eating what you kill. It all makes sense, but it also feels kind of like when Dexter explains that he’s a good serial killer because his victims are rapists and murderers. Really, this guy just likes to kill s–-t.”

As The Inquisitr previously reported, Pratt also transformed himself from an overweight Parks and Recreation comedic actor into an action hero. In preparation for the Guardians of the Galaxy audition, Pratt, 35, worked out three or four hours every day, an intense regimen which included p90x, running, swimming, and kickboxing, among other things.

MoviePilot offered this assessment of Chris Pratt being a “huge gun nut,” a view that is often frowned upon (perhaps hypocritically so) in liberal Hollywood: “Pratt might just be as candid and down-to-earth as celebrities come these days. By showing that he is not afraid to reveal his opinions on controversial issues such as gun law, Pratt has proven than he probably always speaks his mind. This isn’t some Hollywood charm school bullcrap.”
