American Children Plead For Their Daddy’s Release From Prison In Iran, Death Threats From ISIS On Pastor Saeed’s Life

They are sweet, innocent American children, and they don’t understand why their daddy can’t come home. Pastor Saeed Abedini has been unjustly imprisoned in Iran for almost two years, and his children have made a video pleading for President Obama to bring him home. Pastor Saeed’s dire situation is more dangerous than ever, now that ISIS terrorists are in the same prison with him and have made threats on his life.

Seven-year-old Rebekka and 6-year-old Jacob have missed birthdays and Christmas and Father’s Day with their daddy. Pastor Saeed went to prison just before Rebekka’s sixth birthday. This September, she turns 8, making it her third birthday without her father home if he remains in prison.

“Mom, what can we do?” Rebekka asked her mom recently. Her mother, Naghmeh Abedini, recently told FOX News that the kids wanted to know how they could help. “We want to bring daddy home.” She helped them to film a heart-touching video plea, begging the President to bring their father home.

More than a year ago, The Inquisitr reported that Pastor Saeed had been transferred to one of the most dangerous prisons in the world, Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj. Abedini was arrested for his Christian faith while on a humanitarian mission to Iran to build an orphanage for Iranian children.

The sentence was eight years in prison. Pastor Saeed has already suffered numerous beatings, and deplorable conditions at the hands of his captors. Al-Qaeda members have tried to attack Saeed in the prison yard. Fortunately for him, some other prisoners have stepped in and stopped them.

Recently, Pastor Saeed’s situation has become even more precarious than before. Several IS (formerly ISIS) terrorists are now being held in the same prison as Pastor Saeed Abedini. According to The Daily Caller, the Islamic State terrorists have made their intentions clear that they plan to murder him because he is a Christian. Once a day, all the prisoners are together in the prison yard for exercise, but Pastor Saeed is reportedly hiding out in his cell to avoid the IS terrorists. They sometimes pass through his cell block on their way back from the yard, causing Saeed to fear for his life.

According to Attorney Jay Sekulow of the ACLJ who has been working with Pastor Saeed and his family, “This is an extremely dangerous development that puts Pastor Saeed’s life at grave risk.”

This is the same terrorists who are wreaking havoc across Iraq and Syria, brutally murdering those who have different beliefs from them. The Islamic State terrorists are members of the Sunni Muslim caliphate, who are constantly in recent headlines for their savage treatment of Christians, Yazidis, and Shiite Muslims. They have reportedly beheaded children in Mosul, after telling all the Christians there that they would face the sword if they did not convert to their version of Islam.

Iran, where Pastor Saeed is imprisoned, is a Shiite Muslim state. Sekulow told FOX News that now is the ideal time for President Obama to demand, not ask for, Pastor Saeed’s release. Iran is sending troops into Iraq to fight ISIS. The Shiites of Iran are fighting the Sunni IS forces for the right of the Shiites of Iraq to exist and follow their religious beliefs.

Ironically, they have imprisoned an American with dual Iranian/American citizenship for the same thing they are fighting — for following his religious beliefs.

Little Rebekka Abedina doesn’t understand that. She asks, “Why does our Daddy need to be in prison for loving Jesus?”

Her brother Jacob says, “My heart cries because it misses Daddy… a lot, lot, lot, lot, lot, a THOUSAND lots. And it doesn’t stop crying. It’s crying right now.”

Pastor Saeed used to sing “Here I Am to Worship” as a bedtime song with his children. Last year at an event in Idaho, Rebekka had the opportunity to sing that song which reminds her so much of her daddy. Mrs. Abedini says that they later “learned that Saeed would also remember this song often [in prison] and sing it when he was in solitary confinement.”

Iran is on shaky moral ground when they condemn IS for persecuting Shiite Muslims for their beliefs, while, at the same time, holding a Christian man prisoner for his religious beliefs. However, this puts President Obama in the ideal political situation to aggressively demand the Pastor Saeed’s release, as American forces are being called upon to fight IS terrorists.

“We call on President Obama and Secretary Kerry to intervene immediately to secure Pastor Saeed’s release and to ensure that he is protected during this transfer to freedom,” writes Jay Sekulow. “Pastor Saeed, who is approaching his second year of imprisonment in Iran, must be returned to his family without delay.”

Pastor Saeed’s children are begging for the President to act, as millions of people around the world continue to pray for Saeed Abedini’s safety and release.
