Ben Affleck Injured On ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ Set?

Reports that Ben Affleck was injured on the set of Batman v Superman were floating around the net on Thursday. A video that shows Batman nursing his shoulder had some folks worried that something was wrong with one of the main characters in director Zack Snyder’s blockbuster.

According to Batman-News, the actor hurt his shoulder while filming a scene for the Man of Steel sequel.

The site refers to a report from the tabloid Star:

“The 41-year-old was sent home from set after straining his body due to a complicated move using his left shoulder. ‘It was hurting him pretty bad,’ a source reveals. ‘He’s putting his all into this role and it’s pretty physically demanding. The trips to the gym are two, sometimes three times a day and on set he’s like a machine.'”

Talk about taking your job seriously. The report indicates that an EMT was seen checking Ben Affleck’s s injury while filming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and he was advised to take it easy for the time being.

The source adds, the problem hasn’t slowed Affleck down:

“This injury was his first and most painful while shooting. Ben can act, but has been put on temporary hold from doing any stunts for a few days. That is, until the doctor gives him the OK to start again.”

The injury to Ben Affleck’s shoulder apparently happened prior to all the set photos we have seen in the past few days. As this video indicates, he is seen clearly rubbing his shoulder and wincing. That would explain the use of more stunt doubles for the Bruce Wayne scenes in Detroit. And here we thought Batfleck was lazy.

The day after this video was shot, we saw one or more stunt doubles doing the heavy lifting for the injured Ben Affleck. In one of the scenes shot that day, we see the body double rescuing a young girl amid the rubble of a Wayne Enterprises building. Affleck did not take part in the scene.

Ben Affleck’s injury explains the body doubles we saw in the first videos and photos showing Bruce Wayne in action on the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Luckily, it appears that whatever was afflicting Batman was not serious and he was seen working on his scene later on. The production continues to be filmed downtown Detroit.
