‘Resident Evil’ Criminal Accepts Plea Deal, TV Show Based On The Game In Development

Resident Evil thief Quentin Lewis invoked the characters of the game Resident Evil before he accepted a plea deal, Cliffviewpilot is reporting today. 34-year-old New Jersey resident Quentin Lewis liked a car so much that he stole the car two times. The first time, he purchased the Mercedes Benz with two bogus checks worth over $36,000. The car dealer tried to cash the checks but soon realized the checks were fake and worthless.

The car in question was eventually placed in the impound after it was picked up for parking in an unauthorized location. When Quentin Lewis tried to claim the car, he was denied. That’s when police say the car thief came up with the brilliant idea of returning back to the car lot, hopping inside the vehicle and driving off the lot without looking back.

Police later found the thief at his job with an ambulance company. In court, Lewis was offered a plea deal, allowing him to serve only four years in prison. He took the deal but not before he invoked the characters of the popular horror game Resident Evil, according to North Jersey-News.

Resident Evil is a horror game of survival that was released on March 30, 1996 in the United States and Japan. It was later released in Europe. Developed by Capcom and created by Shinji Mikamin Japan, Resident Evil took the gaming world by storm as players enjoyed hungry zombies, spooky graves, labs and bio-made monsters.

Resident Evil was made for the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn consoles. The intensely sharp graphics and realistic backgrounds give the player the feel of being inside a horror movie. The Resident Evil gaming experiences has been so enjoyable that the game inspired several movies years after making its debut.

Most recently, it was announced that the Resident Evil franchise has inspired the making of a television show. According to Tech Times, the TV show Arklay will premiere sometime in 2015. The show will be developed by Mance Media and written by Shawn Christopher Lebert as stated in an article by NZGamer.

The original 1996 game which has inspired so many other games, movies and books will now be brought right into the living rooms of the television viewers. The Resident Evil inspired show Arklay is based on the game, instead of the movie.

Judging by some of the comments made by Resident Evil fans, they are ready for this latest addition to the franchise as indicated in a previous Inquisitr article.

“Finally Capcom FINALLY, after all these years you did something right with the Resident Evil series.”
