Charlie Hunnam has been spotted with Pirate of the Caribbean actress Astrid Berges-Frisbey amid rumors that the duo are dating.
According to the International Business Times, the Sons of Anarchy actor, who plays the lead role of Jax Teller on the brutal FX biker drama, was seen leaving a London hotel recently with a mysterious girl wearing a baseball cap. But it has now emerged that the woman in question was actually Frisbey, who played the mermaid Syrena in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
The problem is Hunnam has actually been in a long-term relationship with his girlfriend of six years, Morgana McNelis. Of course, seeing the actor leave a hotel without McNeils, a jewelry designer, has only increased speculation that the duo have called quits on their time together as a couple.
However, that doesn't seem likely because, as Hunnam described last month, they have only recently bought their own ranch together. During an interview, Hunnam explained why he keeps a low-profile and doesn't look to be scrutinized by the media:
"None of that c*** interests me at all, and actually, my girlfriend and I just bought a ranch, so we are getting out of Hollywood completely."
The images, which you can see over at Just Jared, don't look to be too incriminating though and simply show the two actors leaving the Soho-based establishment. They could have easily just been meeting to discuss an upcoming film role or project together.
Hunnam's refusal to become another cog in the Hollywood publicity machine is allegedly what saw him turn down the lead role in Fifty Shades of Grey. Back in October it was announced that the English-born thespian had been cast as the film's main character, Christian Grey, but he soon pulled out. Rumors suggested that it was because he wasn't prepared for the media to cover every corner of his life.
Hunnam dismissed these claims back in July, when he declared at the Television Critics Association Event that it was "pretty heartbreaking" to walk away from the character. Instead, it was his busy schedule that ruined his chances to star in the film, as he not only had to film the new season of Sons of Anarchy, but he had also just joined Guillermo Del Toro's Crimson Peak. Berger-Frisbey can be seen in I Origins, which sees her star opposite Michael Pitt in Mike Cahill's intriguing sci-fi.
