Martin Lawrence Announces ‘Bad Boys 3’ On Conan

Are you ready to see Martin Lawrence and Will Smith hit the big screen again? Some fans will be excited to hear that Lawrence confirmed that there’s going to be a Bad Boys 3 coming to theaters.

Actor and comedian Martin Lawrence broke the news on TBS’ Conan during his appearance. Round three of Bad Boys is definitely a go. That said, it’s going to be awhile before we see the third film as it’s still in the very early stages.

“I just talked to [producer] Jerry Bruckheimer yesterday and he said it’s real, they’re working on the script, they’re getting close, and it all looks good,” said Lawrence.

When Conan O’Brien asked if they had completed casting for the film yet, Lawrence joked that they wanted Conan. Of course, O’Brien rolled with this idea and is down for a walk-on role. “I will mention it to Will Smith and Jerry Bruckheimer that Conan wants a cameo,” said Lawrence.

The comedian had a better suggestion, and mentioned O’Brien playing “a crooked cop on crack.”

For those who don’t know, Martin Lawrence and Will Smith teamed up for Bad Boys in 1995 and in 2003 with Bad Boys II. Although he didn’t mention that Will Smith was down to complete the trilogy, it’s a given at this point since most of the films rely on Smith and Lawrence’s undeniable chemistry. This is a buddy cop action comedy that no one should mess with. As we’ve seen with 21 Jump Street, Ride Along, and the upcoming Let’s Be Cops, the genre has had a rival of sorts. If there was a time to work on Bad Boys 3, now would be it.

This isn’t the first time Martin Lawrence mentioned Bad Boys 3. On his Facebook back in July, the actor posted a picture of himself and Smith from back in 2003 with the caption:

“11 years ago today, Bad Boys II was released in theaters. Feelin’ it” about time for number 3… what do you think Will Smith?”

We’re thinking Will Smith is definitely feeling this news. Smith hasn’t had the best box office luck in some time. His return to the big screen with son Jaden Smith in After Earth was a disastrous outing.

Fans of Bad Boys seemed excited about the upcoming movie as well:
