Kate Middleton Spotted Hunting Through Bargain Bin For New Baby Clothes

Kate Middleton can’t turn down a good deal, especially when it comes to her baby boy.

The Duchess of Cambridge was spotted looking through the bargain bin at a designer outlet in the village of Oxfordshire. Sources say she was looking through the pajama bin at Lacoste for some new digs for Prince George.

“Kate came in on Sunday on her own, just like anyone else, and browsed the sales racks,” said one sales associate. “At first I didn’t recognize her, I couldn’t believe it was Kate. She was very friendly.”

Kate Middleton ended up buying a few items, including a bath mat, and had them shipped to her place at Kensington Palace.

The bargain bin hunting could have a ripple effect with British shoppers. Kate Middleton has become something of a fashion trendsetter, with items she has bought benefiting from what has become known as The Kate Effect.

One great example was the soft baby blanket she wrapped around Prince George as they left the hospital after his birth. The bright patterned blanket was an immediate hit, and sold so quickly that there was a backlog of several weeks to order them.

But Kate Middleton has often been cost-conscious as well. Last year, she was spotted in a $29 maternity dress.

The find seemed to fit Kate’s style, which is very laid back for a member of the royal family.

“Some might say it’s a little dull,” a friend of the royal couple told Vanity Fair, “but they love it. I saw William recently and he is so happy. They’ve grown out of clubbing and have no interest in parties. They just enjoy being together at home. No one bothers them in Anglesey, there are few paparazzi, and they love the countryside.”

There is a chance Kate Middleton was hunting through the bargain bin for some smaller clothes than Prince George might wear. There have been rumors that she and Prince Williams are trying for a second baby, and other rumors that she may already be pregnant.
