Grumpy Cat Claws Her Way To The Top With A New Book, New Movie, And New Commercial! [Video]

Have you heard the phrase, “Nobody likes a grump?” That couldn’t be further from the truth when it comes to the famous pouty cat, Grumpy Cat. The cat, whose real name is Tartar Sauce (that alone would be enough to make her angry), is on tour promoting her new book, The Grumpy Guide to Life: Observations by Grumpy Cat. Yes, Grumpy Cat is spreading her feline joy all over North America, according to USA Today.

Thousands of Grumpy Cat fans are lining up at her bookstore appearances for the chance to capture the purr-fect photo, and even get Grumpy Cat’s “paw”-tograph.

After Grumpy Cat’s first book, Grumpy Cat: A Grumpy Book spent 10 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list, as per Irish Times, her second book is sure to be the pick of the litter.

According to Amazon, The Grumpy Guide to Life: Observations from Grumpy Cat is your” demotivational guide to everyday life, love friendship and more….and is packed with uninspiring observations to help anyone get in touch with their inner grouch.”

Perfect for that special someone who easily gets their whiskers bent out of shape.

Grumpy cat’s owner, Tabitha, who coincidentally goes by “Tabby,” — hmmm — says Grumpy Cat is actually not grumpy at all. She tells USA Today, “She’s very sweet and docile.” Of course, who wouldn’t be when you have a complete entourage of people to take care of you, that includes manager, Ben Lashes (internet meme talent agent), and numerous book publicists. What more could a cat need?

If you don’t get a chance to catch Grumpy Cat at you local bookstore, don’t get you tufts in an uproar. As Grumpy Cat is clawing her way to the top in the entertainment industry, you’ll have many opportunities to ‘Cat-ch” up with her. In fact, according to USA Today, Grumpy Cat has a new Honey Nut Cheerios commercial set to debut this month, in addition to a new Lifetime movie, Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever, scheduled to air on November 29.

When owner Tabitha was asked by USA Today how she would explain Grumpy Cat’s overwhelming popularity, she answered:

“Misery loves company. People feel if Grumpy’s having a bad day, too, they can use her as a way to communicate their negative feelings.”

Or… it could be just because she’s so darn cute.
