Toddler Rescued From Train Tracks Seconds From Death [Video]

A toddler rescued from train tracks seconds from death barely escaped with his life. The baby fell on the tracks but was rescued by his panicked mother. The incident took place at at Goodge Street station in London, England. A baby in a carriage was accompanied by a man and a woman. However, neither of those adults was paying attention to the child when the incident occurred, reported The Journal. A strong gust of wind blew the baby carriage onto the train tracks, leaving the helpless child seconds from death until his mother rescued the toddler from the train tracks.

The toddler rescued from the train tracks can thank his mother’s quick reflexes for his life. The unidentified woman leaped onto the tracks as a train was approaching. Fortunately, she reached the child in time. She was able to pull the baby and the carriage off the train tracks just seconds before the train pulled into the station.

Although the incident took place on July 23, 2014, a video showing the baby on the train tracks wasn’t posted online until yesterday. Now the British Transport Police are looking for help identifying the man and the woman seen in the surveillance video that captured the entire harrowing incident from start to finish. They want to know more about the toddler rescued from the train tracks. Who is he? Is he okay?

Chief Inspector Mark Lawrie released a statement on August 11, 2014.

“This was a frightening incident, not just for the scale of the danger the child was exposed to, but also because the woman then put her own life on the line by going onto the tracks. We urgently need to identify the people involved to ensure the child wasn’t injured as a result of the fall onto the tracks.”

Chief Inspector Lawrie added a word of caution about how people should behave when around train tracks.

“This incident shows just how much respect rail passengers should have for the network. It is, when used incorrectly, a hazardous environment and the proper care should always be taken, particularly on busy platforms and in areas which are affected by the gusts of wind which can blow through tunnels.”

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, this isn’t the first time someone was just seconds from death before dramatically escaping the path of a rushing train. Earlier this year, a tragic death was narrowly avoided after a cyclist tried to cross the tracks in front of an oncoming train. The man was able to escape to safety, but his bicycle was destroyed in the accident. Like the toddler rescued from train tracks, the bicycle versus train incident was caught on video.

What do you think? Will the parents of the toddler rescued from the train tracks just seconds from death come forward to identify themselves?
