Mark Wahlberg has been known for his super-fit physique since his days as a Calvin Klein underwear model. Now, at age 43, Wahlberg is showing he’s still got it on the set of Ted 2.
The Daily Mail published some snaps of the movie star as he’s filming the sequel to his 2012 hit. Wahlberg has already graced the red carpet this year as Transformers: Age of Extinction hit theaters and recently celebrated the Emmy nomination of his family’s reality series, Walhburgers.
Before he was a major box office draw, Wahlberg enjoyed a previous life as a rapper and model. He became known as much for his body as for his other talents, or his association with his famous brother, Donnie Wahlberg, then known primarily as a member of the 80s teen pop sensation New Kids on the Block.
Wahlberg made the transition to acting in the mid-1990s beginning with a turn in 1993’s The Substitute. What followed were consistent and meaningful roles in The Basketball Diaries(1995), Fear (1996), Traveller (1997), and Boogie Nights (1997). He featured in two highly-regarded films alongside George Clooney, Three Kings(1999) and The Perfect Storm (2000).
Now a father of four, and happily married to model Rhea Durham, Wahlberg seems to have both a thriving home life and public success. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Wahlberg joked earlier this year that his children “test his patience,” and he prays for divine assistance. Wahlberg got his high school diploma last year, in part to set an example for his kids and to inspire others who might consider dropping out:
“To those students struggling every day and — most importantly — to those who are looking for a second chance. I have a message for you: never give up. Keep believing in yourselves and don’t make small plans.”
The Wrap reported in June that Ted 2 is directed, co-written, and co-produced by Seth MacFarlane, who also provides the voice of Ted, the not-suitable-for-children stuffed teddy bear who came alive as the result of a childhood wish. The sequel is set for June 26, 2015 release.
The original Ted was a huge box office success, bringing in more than $500 million. The Wrap calls it the highest-grossing original R-rated movie of all time. The sequel is filming in Wahlberg’s home state of Massachusetts and co-stars Amanda Seyfried.
