Angelina Jolie: Exclusive ‘Maleficent’ Shoes For Sale; Only 96 Of Them In Stock
Angelina Jolie’s most recent movie, Maleficent, didn’t get much love from film critics, who dismissed the re-imagined Disney classic as far inferior to the movie it took inspiration from. Currently sitting at 48% at Rotten Tomatoes, Jolie’s film was bashed with typical critic harshness that would make Roger Ebert proud. Despite the negative reception, the film made some serious money from international ticket sales. Angelina enjoyed a worldwide success for the fantasy film, which raked in almost $800 million from around the globe.
And now, the actress/philanthropist is ready to let go some of the more special movie merchandise that weren’t showcased at your local theater gift shop. Jolie is selling a few dozen pairs of shoes specially made for Maleficent‘s international promotion tours, and you can have one yourself for a hefty price of $1,500
Angelina Jolie, together with world-famous footwear designer Christian Louboutin, has created an exclusive batch of Maleficent-inspired shoes that Jolie actually wore during promotional tours for the film. According to the Independent, the pumps are called Malangeli and are hand-made in Paris, France.
The shoes are pitch black and adorned with smoke-like designs, imitating the mystique that is the character of Maleficent. Described by Louboutin’s spokesman as “dangerous and altogether seductive,” the Malangeli is available on a pre-order basis and is sold at about $1500 per pair, which is surprisingly affordable considering Angelina wore a pair of the shoes (or perhaps several pair) for the official movie tour.
Buyers won’t be getting a pair worn by Angelina herself, but still, for a die-hard Angelina Jolie fan, nothing is really too expensive, is it? And if they do decide to splurge that amount of money on a single pair of pumps, they’re not just putting themselves in Angelina’s shoes, they’re also helping out SOS Children’s Village, a non-profit that Jolie is currently supporting. According to E!, the shoes won’t sit on store shelves for long. Louboutin is said to have only created 96 pairs (why he didn’t round off, we’ll never understand).
In other news, Angelina Jolie will be directing her own hubbie, Brad Pitt, in an upcoming movie entitled By The Sea. According to a recent Inquisitr report, the actress will be taking a role behind the cameras as Pitt takes on the lead role. By The Sea is reportedly based on the story of a couple and their marital problems, who takes a vacation to diffuse the steam between them.
This would be Angelina Jolie’s fourth directorial work, following Unbroken, which is set to come out in theaters this year.
