Melissa Gorga: Deep Financial Problems Turn Her Dream House Into A Nightmare

Melissa Gorga and husband Joe had planned to move into their dream house, but instead have just a vacant lot to show for their efforts as crushing financial problems have kept them from starting construction.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star was seen on the hit reality show bragging about their dream house, but sources say they haven’t touched the vacant lot since filming ended several months ago.

“Joe and Melissa are still living in the rental house, and haven’t even broken ground on their new house. There has been no movement on the project, and the lot still sits empty, with no work being done,” a source told RadarOnline.

“Plans for the new house are now on hold because of ongoing financial troubles plaguing the Gorgas.”

Joe and Melissa Gorga have had all kinds of home issues lately. In July, the couple’s tenant accused them of renting him a home filled with garbage and wild animals. The tenant, Kai Patterson, also accused the Gorgas of providing house with broken appliances, with leaks in the bathroom, cracked marble stairs, and missing shower doors in the bathroom.

“We just had a home inspection. We’re trying to settle the matter,” Patterson told RadarOnline. “I just needed to get a better understanding of the scope of the problems.”

This is not the first time that Joe and Melissa Gorga have faced steep financial problems. Back in 2012, the couple put their Toms River home on the market for $500,000, but mortgage documents showed they actually owed close to $2 million on the property.

The couple bought the home for $450,000 back in 2005, taking out an initial mortgage of $360,000 and a secondary one for $45,000.

While she faces a financial crunch in her life, Melissa Gorga is right back at home on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. In the upcoming episode, she stirs up trouble between Amber Marchese and Nicole Napolitano.
