Jeremy Lake Murder: Two Tulsa Cops Arrested For Slaying Daughter’s Boyfriend

Jeremy Lake was allegedly shot to death by his girlfriend’s father when the 19-year-old man tried to introduce himself, police in Tulsa claim.

Police have arrested the parents of 18-year-old Lisa Kepler, claiming that her father opened fire for no apparent reason as the boyfriend was approaching to introduce himself. Making the case even more shocking is the fact that Lisa’s parents — 54-year-old Shannon Kepler and 48-year-old Gina Kelper — are police officers themselves.

Shannon Kepler, Lisa’s father, has been booked on a count of first-degree murder, while his wife Gina is jailed on a charge of being an accessory to murder after the fact.

Police were called to North Maybelle Avenue on Tuesday night after reports that a man was shot, finding Jeremy Lake dead of a gunshot wound.

Lisa Kelper said she was walking with Jeremy when she noticed her parents’ black SUV pull up. As Jeremy went to the car to introduce himself, her father opened fire on the young man and then tried to shoot her as well as she hid behind a bush.

“I walked away and Jeremy tried to introduce himself, and my dad shot him,” KJRH-TV reported Lisa as saying.

Shannon and Gina Kepler, who have both served with the Tulsa Police Department for more than two decades, turned themselves in later that night, the Tulsa World reported.

Lisa claims that her parents kicked her out of the house the week before the murder, leaving her in front of the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless. There she met Jeremy Lake and started a relationship.

Lisa had been living with Jeremy and his aunt. Police said the shooting took place in front of Lake’s home.

After the murder, Lisa Kepler said she had no sympathy for her parents.”I really hope they rot in prison for a very long time,” she said, noting that she turned in her father for the killing.

The Keplers are being held without bail in the murder of Jeremy Lake.
