Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union’s ‘Save The Date’ Video Shows Footage Of The Proposal

The union of Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle… err… Union… looks like it will be one of the more talked about celebrity weddings of the year, and now a saccharine sweet Save the Date video from the couple has emerged online. You may need an insulin shot after this one.

The video comes courtesy of TMZ, and it shows the way that Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade proposed to Union. Wade’s two sons from a previous marriage show up, helping Wade out with his proposal by holding up handmade signs popping the question. Yep, sugar coma-inducing, we know.

“Nickie,” the signs read, referencing Union’s nickname, based on her middle name, Monique, “Will you marry us?”

We then get some previously unseen footage of Wade proposing to Union, the subsequent celebration by family members, and Wade and Union canoodling in bliss. Then, the important information for any guests who received the video, telling them all that’s left is for them to join the couple as they are joined in matrimony.

The couple have set August 30 as the date for the ceremony, which will mark the second marriage for both Union and Wade. Don’t expect too much in the way of leaked imagery from the Wade-Union union, though. TMZ may have gotten ahold of the Save the Date video, but Union has informed guests that phones and cameras will be forbidden at the ceremony. In fact, the exact location of the wedding is as yet unknown in order to preserve the “comfort of our guests and to protect our privacy.”

Invited guests will get to Wade and Union’s ceremony by meeting up at a predetermined location. From there, they’ll take group transport to the actual wedding site. If all goes according to plan, the only footage emerging from the wedding should come from the official wedding photographers. If all goes according to plan…

Wade and Union have been dating since 2009, and the couple announced their engagement with twin Instagram posts in December of last year.

After Wade and Union jump the broom, Wade will likely soon turn back to his day job and try to help the Miami Heat bounce back from an embarrassing defeat in this year’s NBA Finals at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs. The Heat lost out on star LeBron James, who famously announced that he would return to Cleveland to play for the Cavaliers. There, LeBron may find himself teamed up with All-Star forward Kevin Love, while Wade remains in Miami with Chris Bosh.
