LuAyne Brown, 29, is a wife, a mother of two children – and a pole dancer!

LuAyne, or “Lulu” to give her stage name, bills herself as “The World’s Heaviest Pole Dancer.” Weighing in at 252 pounds, she doesn’t have too many challengers for the title.

InTouch Weekly reports that Lulu took up pole dancing in 2006. She had been a cheerleader and dancer and thought she could apply what she had learned there to pole dancing.

Lulu, from Hanover in Maryland, writes on her YouTube channel: “I don’t care what others say about me, you haters can’t bring me down and you won’t either!! Im gonna keep doing my thing!

She adds:

“When I had my first child in 2004 I knew my body would always be the same from then on so decided to look for something new to try. Walking into a class for the first time was nerve wracking but when the music started I forgot I was even nervous to begin with. There is no other self confidence booster for people like me – I was instantly hooked and it was the first time I’d felt sexy in years.”

She first began competing seriously in 2008, and even got an audition for America’s Got Talent in 2012.

Lulu continues:

“I don’t get a lot of mixed reactions when it comes to other dancers. I get a lot of encouragement, which is a great thing, especially us females we can be extremely catty to one another. It’s been great to have that kind of positive feedback, but when you face outside of the pole dancing world, the females aren’t so nice sometimes.”

But it hasn’t been all smooth sailing for Lulu. She also points out, sadly, that not all of her friends supported her in her choice of career.
