Grey’s Anatomy Season 11 Spoilers – Expect Drama.

The cast and crew of ABC’s still-popular Grey’s Anatomy have been generous with plot clues and spoilers for the upcoming season 11, and if there is one thing viewers can continue to expect, it’s drama.

At the front and center of Grey’s Anatomy fans’ concerns and curiosity is the revelation that the new head of cardiology at Seattle Grace, Margaret Pierce, is actually the half-sister of Meredith Grey – a child that Meredith’s mother Ellis Grey had with Dr. Webber. Ellis Grey actually kept the pregnancy and birth of Margaret secret, as well as the subsequent adoption. Not only was Meredith unaware that she had yet another half-sister, Dr. Webber was also kept in the dark about the fact that he had fathered a child with Ellis Grey.

The half-sister theme will be addressed in-depth in season 11. The show’s frontrunner Shonda Rhimes says that, for Meredith, the news is “earth-shattering information. It undoes everything Meredith thought to be true about her past and her childhood. It’s fascinating.”

So what else can viewers expect?

The tension between Meredith Grey and her husband Derek Shepherd will continue to increase, as Meredith’s ambition and drive battle not only with motherhood but with the fact that Derek seems to believe that his own success is more important than that of Meredith’s. Last season left the tumultuous couple in the middle of Meredith’s revelation that she didn’t want to go to Washington D.C., and according to an interview with TV Guide, that’s where the new season picks up. In the interview, Rhimes says, “That is where we start them out. It is something huge. I’m not going to say it causes a huge fight, but we start them out exactly where we left them in the middle of that dilemma. It may cause a huge fight, but I’m not going to say that.”

But there is more to Grey’s Anatomy 11th season than just Meredith Grey.

Viewers can expect Dr. Owen Hunt to begin his recovery from the heartbreak of Dr. Cristina Yang’s departure – and maybe even find a new love interest. And there will be fireworks between Dr. Alex Karev and Dr. Miranda Bailey – but not of the romantic kind. Instead, Alex will be fighting for a position on the board, which places him at odds with Dr. Bailey.

One thing that Grey’s fans are never disappointed in is the amount of drama present every season, and season 11 promises to deliver!

Grey’s Anatomy season 11 airs on Thursday, September 25 at 8/7c. It will have a total of 24 episodes.
