Slender Man Stabbing Victim Ruled Incompetent: Nancy Grace Disagrees

One of the alleged Slender Man stabbing suspects has been ruled unfit to stand trial. The 12-year-old girl claims that she had stabbed her friend “to impress the fictional Internet bogeyman” Slender Man, CNN reports.

On Friday, the debate between prosecutors and the defense over whether a competency test would violate Morgan Geyser’s rights led to the judge asking the girl whether she was competent.

“Court finds the defendant is standing mute,” court documents show.

More from CNN:

Dr. Brooke Lundbohm told the Waukesha County, Wisconsin, court that Morgan believes she has mind-control capabilities and can talk to Harry Potter villain Lord Voldemort, according to CNN affiliate WITI. She believes in unicorns, Lundbohm told the court.

Morgan also laughed inappropriately and squatted in her chair during her competency review, the doctor said, according to WITI.

Another expert, Dr. Kenneth Robbins, said Morgan wasn’t concerned about a potential long prison sentence, and she said she uses Vulcan mind control, of Star Trek fame, to feel or believe whatever she wants, WITI reported.

While the girl may have her judge fooled, one person who isn’t buying the Slender Man stabbing suspect’s defense is former prosecutor Nancy Grace.

Grace, in comments to CNN, said that the competency test was an effort by the defense to get the case sent back to juvenile court and extend the trial so that, by the time it gets here, the girl will have a year served under her belt.

Nancy Grace also said that in all her years as a prosecutor, she’d never once seen a juvenile ruled incompetent and that the evidence shows Geyser is anything but.

Morgan and Anissa Weier were arrested in May for luring a friend into a wooded area in Waukesha, Wisconsin, after a sleepover. Once there, the Slender Man stabbing suspects allegedly stabbed the girl 19 times, leaving the victim to crawl to her own rescue. A bicyclist found the victim, also 12, on a sidewalk later the same day.

Slender Man, or Slenderman as it is also spelled, is a horror story meme the girls had encountered on a website known as Creepypasta Wiki, according to the criminal complaint.

One of the suspects told police Slender Man is the site’s leader, and to please him, one must commit murder.

Morgan and Anissa have been charged as adults with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, and both girls’ attorneys are hoping the case gets kicked back to juvenile court.
