Princess For Hire: Aimee Richardson Desperate For Work After ‘Game Of Thrones’ Recasting

Former Games of Thrones star Aimee Richardson is really, really desperate for work. The 16-year-old lass is so desperate that she made a Vine video in which she holds up a sign that reads, “princess for hire”:

If you recall, Aimee Richardson used to play young Princess Myrcella Baratheon on Game of Thrones. Myrcella is the second oldest Baratheon child, between Tonmen and Joffrey. However, she’s actually the incest baby of Cersei and Jamie Lannister, who are brother and sister, though not many people in the show realize this yet. Her character was last seen being hauled off to the kingdom of Dorne by the intrepid Tyrion Lannister. While Myrcella is posed to make a return in the next season (fifth), it won’t be with the so-called “princess for hire,” reports the LA Times.

This is not the first time recasting has occurred on this rather tumultuous show. In fact, the character of Gregor Clegane (aka “the Mountain”) has already been played by three different actors! This is also not the first time that Aimee Richardson has taken to Vine to share satirical commentary about Game of Thrones. According to The Independent, after the infamous Purple Wedding, Aimee Richardson posted the following video to her Vine account:

According to the Seattle PI, Princess Myrcella will now be played by Nell Tiger Free, a 14-year-old English actress known for her roles in Mr. Stink and Broke. The two-year age difference pretty much explains why the producers of the show chose to hire someone else to play the princess. While three years has passed in the real world, a much shorter span of time has passed in the fictional worlds of Westeros and Essos.

So how is the princess of hire holding up? Obviously, she’s unemployed, though that’s completely okay for a 16-year-old. The most important thing is that she’s still remaining cheery, as is evident by this additional Vine she posted:

Recognize the other person? That’s Kerry Ingram. She plays Princess Shireen, i.e., the daughter of King Stannis. And no, she too hasn’t been recast, though whether her character Princess Shireen will return for the next season remains to be seen. The last we saw her, she was attending a funeral in Castle Black.

Regardless, if you want to keep up with the now unemployed “princess for hire,” make sure to follow the actress’ twitter.
