Meanwhile, Minecraft console developer 4J Studios is still diligently working on getting the Xbox One Edition, PS4 Edition and PS Vita Edition out by the previously announced August release date.

They have even been working weekends to try to get all the needed bug fixing done. Though, they did take a break for an air show.

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition and PS4 Edition will bring worlds that are 36 times larger than the PS3 Edition and PS Vita Edition with increased view distances. The new versions of the game will support transferring worlds over from the last-gen versions, but the ability to increase the world sizes will come with a later update.

Texture packs, skin packs and mash-up packs that were purchased for the current Minecraft releases can be used with the upcoming releases too. The majority of the packs will transfer over to the next-gen consoles with the exception of the Marvel-themed packs due to licensing issues.

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition, Minecraft: PS4 Edition and Minecraft: PS Vita Edition are all scheduled to launch sometime this August. Existing Xbox 360 and PS3 owners of the game can upgrade to the next-gen version for $5 while PS3 owners will get the PS Vita version for free.

What do you think of the Guardians of the Galaxy skin pack for Minecraft on the Xbox 360? Will you drop two bucks on it?
