Calvin Harris Gives Rita Ora Songs To Another Singer
When Calvin Harris breaks up with his girlfriend, he takes his songs with him.
For those who haven’t dug through the DJ’s personal life in recent months, Harris decided to call it quits with singer and Fifty Shades of Grey actress Rita Ora. Since the pair had joined forces for Ora’s upcoming album, the split tossed a serious monkey wrench into her plans. In fact, her first North American record is pretty much up in the air at this point.
According to TV3, Calvin Harris took a handful of the songs he wrote for his ex-girlfriend with him when they went their separate ways. However, it didn’t take Harris very long to find someone else to tackle the material. The recipient of these tunes: former America’s Got Talent contestant Alexis Jordan. That’s definitely got to sting a little.
An anonymous source recently dished:
“Alexis has an amazing voice that works really well with house music, she`s a fan of the genre and hoping to put new material out soon. He`d made a lot of songs for her [Ora] but they`re now likely to go to other artists.”
The Inquisitr previously reported that Calvin Harris prevented his ex from recording any of the songs they worked on together. A completely different source explained that Harris no longer wants anything to do with the singer. This is why you should never mix business with pleasure, folks, especially if you’re working on an album.
The insider explained:
“Rita’s album has hit a bit of a road block after Calvin pulled all the songs he had worked on for the project before they split. He’d made a lot of songs for her but they’re now likely to go to other artists. He doesn’t want to be linked with her, especially now she’s in a new relationship with Rich Hilfiger.”
To add insult to injury to, Rita apparently learned that her professional and romantic relationship with Calvin Harris was over from a post on Twitter. Although the singer hoped to work things out with the DJ, Calvin made it abundantly clear that they were finished.
An entirely different source said:
“Rita’s crushed by the spit, as Calvin was just about the only person in her life who would tell it to her straight. She’s belatedly realized she’s surrounded by nodding dogs, who never say no to her. With her career going from strength to strength, she reckons she needs real people around her. Calvin was brilliant for that but he got sick of the hangers-on and felt the relationship was going nowhere. Rita still hopes they can work it out, because there was never any great argument between them, but Calvin has been quite clear.”
