Ariana Grande Has Trouble Overcoming Insecurity

Ariana Grande is currently at the top of the pop music pile, but that doesn’t mean the singer doesn’t struggle with a few insecurities.

Although it’s to imagine that the former Sam & Cat star is suffering from any self-esteem issues after dominating the charts with her hit song “Problem,” success doesn’t necessarily erase these concerns at the end of the day. During her recent conversation with the folks at Seventeen magazine, Grande admitted that dealing with these personal issues is a constant battle. However, she’s obviously not going to let them win.

Ariana explains that a lot of these insecurities arise from the constant scrutiny of living in the public eye. Social media definitely has its perks — Grande did a wonderful job promoting “Problem” on Twitter and Instagram in the weeks ahead of its release — but it can also transform celebrities into targets for armchair critics and nefarious haters.

Grande told the publication:

“It’s tough to spend some of the most important years of your life in front of so many strangers who want to pick you apart. Insecurity has been the hardest thing I’ve had to overcome. I think everyone my age struggles with that because everyone strives for approval and wants to feel loved.”

The singer continued, “Everybody has certain things that make them feel insecure. Even when you overcome a huge battle in your life and you make a ton of progress as a person, there are still things that will upset you and break your heart. But I feel like I’m at a point in my life where love is the most important thing, and I won’t let anything come before it.”

When Ariana Grande isn’t dealing with her insecurities, she’s preparing to unleash her sophomore album. According to Radio.com, Norwegian DJ Cashmere Cat debuted a snippet from his collaboration with the singer during a recent club set. Fortunately for those who weren’t in attendance, the song was captured by someone who happened to have a smartphone handy. Check out the short clip below.

Grande, meanwhile, is enjoying plenty of success from “Problem.” Twelve weeks after the song officially made its presence known, the track is still sitting pretty on the Billboard 100. As of this writing, the undeniably catchy song has a tight grip on the No. 4 position. Not bad for a tune that arrived approximately three months ago.

Are you surprised that Ariana Grande still battles with insecurities?
