Obama Amnesty Executive Order Allegedly Imminent

Illegal immigrants may soon be granted amnesty in the form of work permits by the stroke of President Barack Obama’s pen. A Democratic Senate aide said the president is planning to allow millions of illegal aliens to remain in the United States courtesy of an executive order, Bloomberg Businessweek reports.

President Obama is expected to announce the illegal immigrants amnesty plan in September, just prior to the midterm elections. The president has already stated publicly that the will “act” on the illegal immigration and amnesty issue if Congress does not pass related legislation. According to the most highly-cited yet still unconfirmed estimates, there are approximately 12 million illegal immigrants living in America.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, President Obama requested $3.7 billion from Congress to deal with the massive influx of illegal immigrants who have crossed the Texas border so far this year. Many politicians on both sides of the political aisle have stated that the president’s proposal needs to focus foremost on securing the border. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid claimed the border is secure, despite the 65,000 illegal aliens who have walked in Texas and surrendered themselves to Border Patrol agents in 2014. President Obama said that if Congress would have passed his “comprehensive immigration reform” bill there would not be such a problem with “undocumented immigrants” at the moment. Politicians calling for more boots on the ground at the border have also blamed the president for the illegal border crossings stating that his DREAMERs Act spurred the uptick of migrants from Central America.

Director of Immigration Policy at the Center for American Progress said:

“One thing that seems clear is that they are seriously committed to using the full extent of their legal authority to start fixing the system. That includes doing as much as possible to enable undocumented individuals with significant equities who have committed no serious crimes to come forward, register, undergo background checks, and request temporary status.”

Bloomberg Businessweek described the Center for American Progress as a Washington-based research group with “close ties to the White House.” As previously reported by The Inquistir, the Center for America Progress’ website Think Progress recently fell for a hoax story claiming that Republican Representative Michelle Bachmann wanted to place illegal immigrant children in “Americanization” labor camps.

Senior Obama administration adviser Dan Pfeiffer told the media last week that the “humanitarian crisis” on the Texas border combined with a Congressional stalemate gives the president “broad permission to take what executive action we can to tray and deal with the broken immigration system.”

What do you think about President Obama offering some type of amnesty via work permits to illegal immigrants by grabbing his pen and signing an executive order?
