Phaedra Parks To Leave ‘RHOA’ With Possible Return For Season 8
Phaedra Parks won’t be returning to The Real Housewives of Atlanta next season. The women are getting ready to sign their contracts and film the new season, but Phaedra has decided to skip this season. It is no secret that Parks has been going through some personal issues over the past month, as her husband Apollo Nida was sentenced to eight years behind bars for fraud and identity theft.
Apollo’s sentence probably doesn’t sit well with Phaedra, who brands herself as an attorney to the stars. And having a felon for a husband may cramp her style. Plus, there have been questions about Phaedra’s marriage to Apollo, as he kept flirting with Kenya Moore over the past two years. One can imagine that the trust is lacking.
According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report, Phaedra Parks won’t be filming this next season, but she hasn’t been fired by Bravo and she hasn’t quit. There is a possibility for a return for the following season, which would be the eighth season. Various reports have said that Phaedra will take a “leave of absence” effective immediately, but Wetpaint Entertainment hints that Phaedra has full plans of returning in the future.
Phaedra Parks has been focusing on her two sons since her husband’s sentencing. She recently returned to Twitter as herself after having a period where she just promoted her book, Secrets of the Southern Belle, and other events. But her decision to take a hiatus from the show could have something to do with her recent decision to divorce Apollo.
When Apollo was sentenced, he mentioned that Phaedra had not shown up to support him. And as The Inquisitr reported yesterday, Phaedra Parks has made the decision to file for divorce. She served him with papers yesterday, which could be the reason why Parks decided to take the leave of absence from the show. It is possible that she wants to protect her sons during this tough time.
When other housewives were asked about firing one of their own, NeNe Leakes hinted that she wouldn’t miss Phaedra Parks. Now that Phaedra is dealing with an estranged husband with a lengthy jail term, a public divorce that will play out in the media, and two younger children as a single mother, one can imagine that fans would want to see her story line.
If the rumours are true about Phaedra leaving the show, fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta will have to wait at least a year to see what she will say about her decision to file for divorce and move forward as a single mother. To date, she has not released a statement.
