WWE News: Dean Ambrose Has Potential To Become WWE’s Biggest Heel

The WWE recently saw the split of the super group known as The Shield, but the break-up might actually be great news for Dean Ambrose.

The former loose cannon of the group, Ambrose looks to benefit from the group’s splinter as it gives him a chance to make a name for himself. He had already impressed WWE insiders with his ring presence and personality, and many believe his newfound independence will only allow him to grow.

After the Shield’s breakup, many thought Roman Reigns would be the one catapulted to the top of the WWE, and indeed he is on the rise, but Dean Ambrose has also impressed.

Bleacher Report writer Tom Clark noted:

“But when Ambrose and Reigns found themselves as a tag team instead of a six-man match, the crowd immediately sided with them. Most fans believed Reigns would be on his way to the main event, and they were right. Because of that, his pop remained intact and only grew stronger.

“But for Ambrose, the crowd reaction was very impressive indeed. The WWE faithful seemed to gravitate toward his reckless style and fully embrace his wild-eyed unpredictability. They could not wait to see what he would do next, and every time he was on camera was a new moment of mayhem.”

As WWE insiders note, both Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose may actually have CM Punk to thank for their rise. Though it initially seemed like a costly blow to the WWE when Punk abruptly retired early this year, it has actually created an opportunity for the organization to push through some of its younger stars.

This includes the 28-year-old Ambrose, who many believe has the ability to become one of the biggest heels in the WWE.

Others see the WWE potential in Ambrose. After this week’s RAW episode, WWE legend Mick Foley took to Facebook to gush about Ambrose’s performance.

“But for me, the show-stealer was the Dean Ambrose vs. Cesaro match,” he wrote. “My concern for Ambrose when The Shield split went down, was that as good as he was, he wasn’t exactly the most sympathetic character in the world. But he tells an amazing story in the ring with the his movements and his facial expressions — and has certainly touched a chord with the fans. It’s going to be interesting to see what the future holds in store for Ambrose.”

While he still has yet to reach the levels of WWE superstars like John Cena or even Roman Reigns, it’s clear the future is bright for Dean Ambrose.
