Ansel Elgort: ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 5 Features Star Of ‘The Fault In Our Stars’!

Ansel Elgort, star of the breakout tween romantic drama The Fault in our Stars and the Hunger Games-esque Divergent, is about to run with zombies in Season 5 of The Walking Dead, according to Christian Today.

The news of Elgort’s addition to the Walking Dead cast came about when Ansel was mentioned in an official Walking Dead tweet:

Another caption commented: “Ansel Elgort of ‘The Fault in our Stars’ will be playing Andrew in Season 5 of #TheWalkingDead who could have a ‘thing’ with Beth!”

As fans of The Walking Dead know, Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) is still MIA in the popular AMC zombie series, but the tweet suggests that she won’t be missing for long. The tweet hints that Ansel Elgort’s new character and Beth will be getting together shortly, most likely meeting up at the Terminus — the setting for much of The Walking Dead Season 5.

Though all signs overwhelmingly point to Ansel Elgort appearing on Season 5 of The Walking Dead, it should be said that neither Elgort or AMC have confirmed that Ansel will be appearing on the show.

Spoiling Dead, a website dedicated to giving spoiler-hungry zombie fans a glimpse of what’s to come on the series, posted a picture on their Facebook page of a Season 5 scene and reported, “People on the ground have stated Emily AKA Beth is on location. The last time they filmed here she was seen driving out of a hospital.”

So how long will fans have to wait before Ansel Elgort’s character hooks up with Beth? According to The Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple, Beth’s fate will be revealed in Season 5, saying that her character’s story isn’t over. Robert Kirkman also confirmed that Beth will return in Season 5, and Kinney herself has said that the “season premiere episode will be something to look forward to,” according to Christian Today.

For his part, Ansel Elgort’s career has been on a meteoric rise, so playing a character on a top-rated television series would be no surprise. Let’s think about this: The Fault in our Stars was only Elgort’s third film. Ansel, of course, played the protagonist’s brother in the sci-fi flick Divergent.

Ansel Elgort’s first film? He played a bit part in the 2013 remake of the horror classic, Carrie.

Here’s the official tease from AMC for the fifth season of The Walking Dead, which may very well include Ansel Elgort:
